I did not, repeat not, know that Briggs & Stratton built an 18hp lawn mower-engined 6-wheel hybrid car in 1979 for giggles. Now I do, and I'm not sure my braiwhuhgarblefnuh weorghatleyfrod xwovwno

I kind of like that.
Is that wrong?

It's a buffer overflow exploit. Briggs and Stratton now have root access to your brain.

It's got that whole "you could build this yourself out of a Renault LeCar" sort of impressiveness.

18hp,less than those cars in Gran Turismo that can't climb a hill. And most likely heavier than those.I doubt that this can reach even 40mph,despite the claims in the ad.

The "ad" thingey says "up to" 40mph on batteries, 55 on batteries + motor. AKA, there would be a terminal top speed, but for a bit you could go much faster, FWIW.

It's an interesting car nevertheless.I'm not sure why they fitted it with 6 wheels but the weight of the batteries in the back might be the reason.

Kinda looks like an AE86, throw a V8 in it and convert it to 4RWD and hoon the hell out of it.

It's a major award!

According to this article, in order to save time and money the prototype was based off a six-wheeled electric van. And yes, that second axle was needed to carry the half-ton of lead-acid batteries.
